Yesterday, Roy and I fell down the top 3 stairs on the way to our routine breakfast of strawberries, for her, and eggs swimming in Texas Pete, for me. So today, I woke up to a bruised bum and forearm. Luckily, she rose with no purple spots. And that’s not me looking for sympathy or a pity party, but me acknowledging that junk scared me and stunned her. The unexpected slips tend to knock us on our butts… (DUH)

There are a lot of unexpected feelings and happenings that revealed themselves soon after there was no longer a protective layer of skin around my babe. Things that were not even close to the front of my brain being that there were just so many things that my mind was occupied with while pregnant that had absolutely nothing to do with the postpartum period.
